Baking By Design is the professional and romantic union of
our lives.
We met while working as Co-Executive Pastry Chefs for a very
large event involving two Miami hotels. We found that we shared
mutual interests in pastry arts, community involvement, family
and each other. I thought she was cute, she thought I walked
funny!
After our wedding in 2002 we set our sights on starting a
business that most importantly, reflected our values about
quality and personal rapport with our customers. Our friends
and family were already our fans and we wanted our customers
to feel that same trust in us. We're proud to say that most
of our customers have become friends.
The heart of Baking By Design is our famous wedding birthday
and specialty cakes. Along with custom centerpieces, gingerbread
houses and chocolate challah bread for the holidays, we also
have fun items such as our "Fur Aprons".
We are constantly keeping up with new trends and ideas by
participating in competitions around the country and attending
Master classes around the world.

Angel Elon's Bio:

believe he is an Angel"

His name seems to fit his work. Pastry Chef Angel Elon began
working in kitchens at the age of 12 with his father an Executive
Chef on Long Island. He then continued his culinary education
under the International Cake Bakers and Confectionary apprenticeship
program in New York.
He has worked around the country as an Executive Pastry Chef
for caterers, hotels, restaurants and bakeries. And he has
represented major food companies in commercials such as, Chi
Chi's, El Torrito, Pizza Hut, Pam Cooking Spray, and Consumer
Reports Magazine.
Angel and Wendy both have received First Place medals from
the American Culinary Federation and have appeared on the
Food Network with Giada DeLaurentis. Their cakes have also
been featured on the Rachel Ray Show and they both have received
numerous awards for their contributions to charities and organizations
through out their pastry arts careers.
The Best of Long Island calls Angel's desserts "over
the top!"
"I love it when someone shakes my hand and says..that
was really sensational!..that's when I'm on cloud 9".

Wendy Israel's Bio:
Pastry Chef Wendy Israel's affinity for
flavor and eye catching culinary works of art, have earned
her rave reviews and a loyal following. Frommer's NY Guide
has listed her desserts under "Best Pastry Dessert",
as did NY Magazine "Best Chocolate Dessert".
Wendy went to South Seattle Community College for her Associate
in Specialty Pastry Arts. She's worked as an Executive Pastry
chef for P.G.A. National Resort and Spa in West Palm Beach
Florida, the Doral Ocean Miami Beach Resort, The White Elephant
Resort in Nantucket, celebrity restaurant Moomba in NY, The
W Hotel in NY and as the Executive Pastry Chef of Jumeirah
Essex House in Manhattan just to name a few.
She has been on the coveted cover of Pastry Arts and Design
Magazine and has appeared as a Celebrity Chef in the Taste
of Tennis and Ladies Professional Golf Association.
